The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, August 28 reveals Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will agree not to hand over the keys to Chancellor.
Also coming up, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will confront Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Plus, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will land in Tahiti. And Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will warn Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about walking into a trap.
Y&R spoilers tease Diane will be disappointed by their room. They were supposed to have an ocean view and a suite. She’ll call downstairs for room service and find out there’s no restaurant or bar there. “Everything we need is right here in this room,” Jack will tell her. “It’s you and me in paradise.”

The couple will go for a skinny dip. When they return to their room, they’ll talk about their love. “You’re right, everything we need is right here,” Diane will say. Later, Jack will tell his wife he’ll regret what happened with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) until his dying day. And Diane will open up to him. She’ll say because of her past, she’s felt that she’s never been worthy of him.
At the ranch, Phyllis will walk in and Victor will immediately ask why she’s there. They’ll discuss Arabesque and she’ll say she lost one of her key players, Matt. Victor will start chuckling. “You think I poached Matt Clark from you?” Phyllis will ask what he’s done with him.
“I can tell you’re not being honest with me, you’re behind his disappearance,” she’ll say. But Victor will deny it. Phyllis will remind him he’s orchestrated other kidnappings. “You’re a pro at this.” Victor will tell her to leave and she’ll threaten to call the cops. “You do that and then we can get rid of the real danger in this town,” he’ll reply. Phyllis will promise Victor she’ll find Matt and walk out.
Meanwhile, Sally will meet up with Billy at Society for dinner. He’ll tell her all about his chat with Lily. “She ended up suggesting maybe we could come to an agreement.” Billy will tell Sally Lily said if he could make a solid argument she’d walk away.
Sally will ask if he convinced her and he’ll say she’s thinking about it. “It seems too easy, I wonder if Lily is setting a trap for you.” However, Billy will defend Lily. He’ll talk about how her brother is leaving Winters and so is her cousin, leaving her to run the company alone.

But Sally will point out Cane is running Chancellor. She’ll add that Lily may have talked to his mom, or even Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz), who wrote Katherine’s autobiography. “Until we absolutely know there’s nothing more at play, we should stay alert when it comes to Lily.” Billy will tell Sally not to worry, he has a plan.
At Lily’s place, Cane will ask if she’s just going to let Billy walk away with Chancellor. “You didn’t think to run this by your CEO or did you just decide my opinion didn’t matter?” he’ll ask. But she’ll get upset, talking about what she’s dealt with this past week. “I thought you’d be the one person who’d have my back and not take it personally.”
Cane will apologize and Lily will say she hasn’t given Billy an answer yet. They’ll discuss how none of it makes sense and she feels like something else is going on. Cane will say if there’s another deep secret they need to find out what it is. “If it is something bad, it’s better that it’s under Billy’s leadership than ours.”
“Are you with me on this?” Lily will ask. “There’s a chance whatever Billy has set in motion could come to light, maybe the best way to protect ourselves is to leave Billy holding the bag.” Cane will say he doesn’t think they just need to hand the keys over to Billy. “He might run the company right into the ground.”
Finally, Lily will admit that bursting Billy’s bubble might be the best way to protect themselves. And Cane will agree that it’s the best course of action at the moment. “I’m gonna tell Billy he didn’t convince me and I’m ready to fight,” Lily will say. “That’ll give us time to dig deeper into this.”
